Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio praises Moloisane after 1-1 PSL 2026 draw

Miguel Inacio has backed Thabo Moloisane to strengthen Kaizer Chiefs after the defender’s debut in a 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kaizer Chiefs drew 1-1 with Mamelodi Sundowns as Thabo Moloisane made his debut for the club. Chiefs are second in the 2026 South African Premier Soccer League with seven points from three matches, having scored six goals and conceded two.

Moloisane joined Chiefs as a free agent in July and was introduced to the starting defence against Sundowns at FNB Stadium. He played alongside Miguel Inacio and Zitha Kwinika in the back line during his first appearance for the club.

Inacio praised the new arrival’s commitment and said Moloisane matched the type of player he values. The Chiefs defender also indicated that the signing could make a significant contribution over the course of the season, particularly in defence.

The draw left Chiefs unbeaten in their opening three league matches. They had previously defeated AmaZulu 1-0 away and Sekhukhune United 2-0, results that placed them behind leaders Orlando Pirates in the early standings.

Chiefs’ wider recent sequence includes a 1-2 defeat away to Elche, a 1-1 draw against Al Kholood and a 0-1 loss to Chippa United, alongside the two league victories. Their league record remains two wins, one draw and no defeats.

Moloisane is one of five players brought in by Chiefs during the current transfer window. Inacio also highlighted Langelihle Phili, a 21-year-old winger who has impressed since arriving and scored his first goal for the club against Sundowns.

Chiefs next travel to face Richards Bay on 26 August 2026. Moloisane’s debut gives the club another defensive option as they continue their early campaign near the top of the PSL table.
