Laryea penalty sends Semper Fi into X1 Energy Drink DOL Super Cup final 1-0

Emmanuel Adjei Laryea scored from the spot in the 90th minute as Semper Fi beat Attram De Visser 1-0 to reach the final.

Emmanuel Adjei Laryea’s 90th-minute penalty gave Semper Fi a 1-0 victory over Attram De Visser and secured the club’s place in the X1 Energy Drink DOL Super Cup final.

The semi-final had produced no goals for almost the entire match. Both teams created pressure and tested the opposing defence, but neither could find the breakthrough during the earlier stages.

Semper Fi had an opportunity to move ahead in the 22nd minute after being awarded a penalty. Francis Eshun took responsibility for the kick but was unable to convert, leaving the score level.

Attram De Visser remained in the contest as the match moved towards full time. Semper Fi eventually found another opening when Samuel Owusu Adonteng was brought down inside the penalty area, giving them a second chance from 12 yards.

Laryea took the kick in the 90th minute and converted it to decide the tie. His finish ended a long goalless period and sent Semper Fi into the final at the first attempt.

Semper Fi will meet either Ebusua Dwarfs or Nsuopun Fidelity in the title match. Those two sides are due to contest the second semi-final, with the winner completing the final line-up.
