KCCA player ratings after 1-0 NEC win in 2026 Fufa Super 8 final
Said Mayanja’s penalty gave KCCA a 1-0 victory over NEC in the 2026 Fufa Super 8 final, with goalkeeper Mutwalibu Mugolofa among the top performers.
KCCA beat NEC 1-0 to win the 2026 Fufa Super 8 final at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo. Said Mayanja converted the decisive penalty as KCCA secured the first silverware of the season.
Mayanja received a 7.5 rating and was named the tournament’s most valuable player. He remained a constant threat to NEC and handled the pressure of the winning spot-kick. Yunus Sibira, rated 7.0, earned the penalty and carried the ball effectively, although he survived a possible second booking after being cautioned earlier.
Goalkeeper Mutwalibu Mugolofa and centre-back Maxwell Owachigiu were KCCA’s joint-highest-rated players at 8.0. Mugolofa produced one important save in each half, while Owachigiu blocked several attempts and competed strongly in the air. Captain Herbert Achai scored 7.5 after his delivery from a free-kick led to the penalty, while he also spent the game dealing with NEC’s attacking threats.
Filbert Obenchan was given 7.0 after making several important tackles despite being tested when NEC added more attacking options. Lazaro Bwambale scored 6.5 for containing Jarieko and Kagawa, though his defensive workload reduced his usual contribution going forward. Brian Jjara received 6.0 after a quieter display than in earlier matches, but continued working until the final whistle.
Sammy Ssebaduka also earned 7.0 for his pace, energy and defensive effort, including a late clearance. Emmanuel Anyama, who started with Charles Lwanga suspended, was rated 6.0 for his hold-up play and physical work, although he did not find enough space to run behind the defence.
Among the substitutes, Ashraf Mugume received 7.0 after replacing Sibira and competing well in tight areas. Ismael Fahad earned 6.0 for taking on opponents without appearing affected by the occasion. Kennedy Muserero was rated 5.0 after replacing Anyama with more than 30 minutes remaining.
The victory adds to KCCA’s strong 2025 Uganda Premier League campaign. They sit second with 62 points from 30 matches, having won 19, drawn five and lost six, while their recent five-match sequence includes three wins and two draws.
