Three Ugandan schools reach FEASSA Games 2026 quarter-finals
Amus College, Kyadondo S.S and St Mary’s Kitende are through to the FEASSA Games boys’ football quarter-finals in Morogoro.
Three Ugandan schools have reached the boys’ football quarter-finals at the 2026 FEASSA Games in Morogoro, Tanzania. Amus College School, Kyadondo S.S and St Mary’s Kitende are among the final eight after the group stage ended on Tuesday, 18 August.
The result ends Bukedea Comprehensive School’s reign as champions. With the holders eliminated, a new winner will be crowned when the quarter-finals are played on Wednesday, 19 August.
Amus College will begin the knockout schedule against hosts Morogoro S.S at the Ujenzi Playground at 11am. Kyadondo S.S will meet another Tanzanian side, Mbeya Day S.S, at the Highland Sports Complex from 1pm.
St Mary’s Kitende’s last-eight tie is against Nsumba S.S at Jamhuri Stadium, with that match scheduled for 3pm. The remaining quarter-final sends Rwanda’s CGF Kigali against Tanzania’s Urambo Day at Ujenzi Playground at 1pm.
Tanzania has four schools in the quarter-finals: Morogoro S.S, Nsumba S.S, Urambo Day and Mbeya Day S.S. Uganda’s three representatives give the country a strong presence in the knockout stage, while CGF Kigali is the only school from outside the two host and neighbouring footballing nations.
The boys’ competition is part of a wider FEASSA Games programme in Morogoro that also includes netball, athletics and cross country, hockey, rugby, cricket, baseball and softball, lacrosse, chess and scrabble. The girls’ football group stage is due to conclude on Wednesday before the semi-finals on Friday, 21 August 2026.
