Leeds United demand £7m for Joe Gelhardt amid interest

Leeds United have set a minimum valuation of £7 million for forward Joe Gelhardt. The club is holding firm on this price despite interest from multiple teams during the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Wrexham have initiated formal talks with Leeds United to secure the 24-year-old. Phil Parkinson's side is making a significant push for the player following Birmingham City's decision to withdraw from previous negotiations. Hull City have also increased their efforts to bring the striker back to the club.

Gelhardt is currently surplus to requirements under manager Daniel Farke and has only 12 months remaining on his contract at Elland Road. However, the competition between three clubs has created leverage for Leeds United.

The forward is coming off a highly successful loan spell at Hull City during the 2025/26 season. He recorded 15 goals and three assists in 43 appearances, a performance that helped Hull City secure promotion to the Premier League. He also featured in the starting lineup for the 1-0 Championship Play-Off Final victory against Middlesbrough at Wembley.

As an England U21 international, Gelhardt is viewed as a valuable asset. While his contract situation might suggest a lower fee, the active pursuit by Wrexham, Hull City, and Birmingham City has maintained his market value at the requested £7 million.
