Leko expresses pride over Manchester United interest in Seys

Club Brugge manager Ivan Leko has expressed pride following reports that Manchester United are interested in signing his fullback, Joaquin Seys. The manager noted that while he is unsure of the validity of the transfer rumours, the links to major clubs are a testament to his players' talent.

Leko confirmed that he and his players discuss the speculation occasionally. He stated that both Seys and teammate Nicolò Tresoldi remain professional and focused on their duties at Club Brugge. While the manager is unaware of direct contact from Manchester United or Barcelona, he acknowledged that the potential of his squad members is significant.

Despite the interest from English and Spanish clubs, Club Brugge currently has no intention of selling Seys or Tresoldi during this transfer window. This stance could present a challenge for Manchester United, who are searching for a new left-back. The Premier League side has previously been linked to Newcastle United's Lewis Hall and Racing Santander's Jorge Salinas, though Salinas reportedly prefers to stay in Spain.

Leko admitted that a significant financial offer would be difficult for the club to reject. He noted that the board's objective is to improve upon the squad from last season. He referenced the departure of Tzolis as an example of the right timing for a player to move on.

Club Brugge has previously indicated they would require a fee of at least €35m to consider a sale of the 21-year-old fullback. While the club is currently holding firm on keeping the duo, Leko suggested that a move could still happen if the right circumstances arise.
