Majoro says he cannot be left behind as he starts coaching journey

Lehlohonolo Majoro has started a new phase of his football career by launching an academy for attacking players, saying he must keep developing as the game changes. The 40-year-old former Bafana Bafana international has also renewed his focus on gaining coaching qualifications.

The academy works with players at different levels, including footballers from Betway Premiership clubs. Majoro has previously shown interest in moving into club coaching, and he now sees his development as a necessary part of building a future in the technical side of the game.

Majoro believes his experience as a professional player is useful but not sufficient on its own. He says coaches must continue learning and examine football from new perspectives because the sport is constantly evolving.

He also expects further qualifications to strengthen his standing in the coaching field. In his view, improved credentials would help establish greater trust in his work and encourage more players to join the academy.

The former striker is particularly committed to specialised work with forwards. He believes strikers benefit from dedicated training and has built the academy around the kind of support he would have wanted earlier in his own career.

Majoro’s approach is rooted in personal responsibility. He considers progress something that must be pursued through effort rather than waiting for outside help, and says the work invested in a goal gives it greater value. His immediate focus is to grow as a coach while developing attacking players through the academy.
