Manica Diamonds fall 0-2 to Ngezi Platinum in Zimbabwe PSL relegation fight

Manica Diamonds lost 0-2 to Ngezi Platinum, leaving the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League side 18th with 19 points from 27 matches.

Manica Diamonds lost 0-2 to Ngezi Platinum at Sakubva Stadium, deepening their relegation troubles in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. The defeat leaves Manica Diamonds 18th on 19 points from 27 matches.

Ngezi Platinum secured the win through goals from Tinashe Mavhudzi and Marvelous Mukumba. Mavhudzi put the visitors ahead before the interval, while Mukumba added the second after the break to settle the match.

Manica Diamonds have now suffered 16 defeats in the 2026 league campaign. Their record also includes four wins and seven draws, while their goal difference stands at 14 scored and 41 conceded.

The latest loss continues a difficult run. Manica Diamonds began their five-match sequence with a 1-0 victory over Triangle United, but then lost 1-0 away to Herentals and 2-0 against CAPS United. A 2-1 defeat at Chicken Inn followed before they responded with a 1-0 win over Kariba.

Those two victories have not been enough to lift the club from the bottom end of the table. The back-to-back wins over Triangle United and Kariba are now separated by three defeats, including the latest result against Ngezi Platinum.

Manica Diamonds will have an opportunity to respond in their next fixture against Agama on 5 September 2026. The match comes with the club still 18th and needing to improve on a record that has produced only four wins from 27 league games.
