Matchroom confirms Birmingham card for Whittaker-Wallace on Oct 3

Odel Kamara will make his professional debut on a Birmingham undercard featuring title fights for Bilal Fawaz, Hamza Uddin and Ibraheem Sulaimaan.

Matchroom Boxing has confirmed the undercard for Ben Whittaker’s meeting with Connor Wallace at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on October 3. The event will be shown worldwide on DAZN, with Whittaker bringing a 12-0-1 record and nine knockouts against Wallace’s 17-1 record and 12 stoppages.

The headline bout is a final eliminator for the IBF World Light Heavyweight Title. The card will also mark the professional debut of Odel Kamara, Matchroom’s latest signing. The 22-year-old won seven National Titles as an amateur and will work with trainer Tony Sims for his first professional contest.

Bilal Fawaz will make the second defence of his British Super Welterweight Title against Eithan James. Fawaz has a 12-1-1 record with four knockouts and extended his deal with Matchroom after beating Ishmael Davis in February.

Hamza Uddin will challenge Sean Bruce for the British and Commonwealth Flyweight Titles. The Walsall fighter is unbeaten after six contests, including three wins inside the distance, while Bruce enters the bout with an 8-2 record.

Ibraheem Sulaimaan will defend his English Title against Sonny Hardy in another meeting of unbeaten fighters. Sulaimaan has won all 11 of his bouts, with five knockouts, and Hardy has also recorded 12 victories without defeat, including five stoppages.

The remaining announced contests include Aaron Bowen’s challenge to Klint Baptiste for the Midlands Area Super Middleweight Title. Bowen is 8-1 with six knockouts, while Baptiste is unbeaten at 5-0. Young prospect Adam Maca, who has a 6-0 record with five knockouts, is also scheduled to appear.
