New KFN President Dimkpa Launches Ambitious Karate Programme

The Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN) has commenced a new strategic initiative titled the ‘ambitious programme’ under the leadership of its new president, Engineer (Dr.) Chukwudi Dimkpa. This plan introduces several structural changes intended to improve the administration and technical progress of karate within the country.

Following an inaugural board meeting held at the Check-Inn Hotel in Abuja, the new executive committee established strict protocols regarding official communication. To ensure institutional consistency, all administrative correspondence must now be issued through the Secretary General. Furthermore, only the President, Vice Presidents, or specifically authorised officials are permitted to hold press conferences or issue public statements on behalf of the federation. No other board members or committee representatives are allowed to speak for the KFN without formal permission.

To improve the federation's digital presence, the board has ordered the updating and securing of its official social media accounts and website. These measures are part of a broader effort to strengthen the communication infrastructure and identity of the martial arts body.

During the meeting, Dimkpa called for professionalism, accountability, and strict adherence to the KFN constitution. He emphasized the importance of unity among all stakeholders to build a more robust federation. The board expressed its intention to govern the sport through constitutional processes to improve its standing both domestically and on the international stage.

The new programme also includes the establishment of a karate league and the creation of new official positions. Additionally, the board has moved to reinstate officials who were previously suspended. These steps are designed to expand domestic competitions and provide better opportunities for referees, coaches, athletes, and other stakeholders across Nigeria.
