Norwich City striker Mohamed Touré offered to Porto without interest

Norwich City forward Mohamed Touré has been presented to Porto, but the Portuguese club has no plans to pursue a deal for the Australia international.

Norwich City striker Mohamed Touré has been put forward to Porto as a possible attacking option, but the Portuguese club has shown no interest in taking the matter further. The 22-year-old has made a strong start to the season, registering one goal and one assist in Norwich’s opening two matches.

Touré’s name has emerged in Portuguese football discussions in recent days, with Porto now the latest club linked to the Australia international. The approach appears to have come from an unidentified party, as there is no indication that Norwich are actively trying to sell the forward.

Porto have not opened discussions about a possible transfer. The club has also decided against making contact to establish what would be required to complete a deal, leaving the proposal without any progress at this stage.

Sporting had previously been mentioned as another possible destination. The Lisbon club’s interest was tied to a possible departure for Luis Suárez, with Touré considered among the names that could have been examined if the forward left.

That possibility has since been played down in Portugal. Sporting are not currently looking at attacking alternatives, meaning there is no clear indication that either of the country’s prominent clubs will pursue Touré before the end of the transfer window.

The Australian’s early-season contribution has nevertheless ensured that his name is circulating in Portugal. He was also included in Australia’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, adding to the profile of a player who is being presented as a transfer option even though neither Porto nor Sporting has decided to act.
