NWFL Nationwide: C2E Sports Academy rout Bayelsa Princesses 10-1
C2E Sports Academy opened the 2026 NWFL Nationwide with a 10-1 win over Bayelsa Princesses as four Aba matches produced 24 goals.
C2E Sports Academy began the 2026 NWFL Nationwide Competition with a 10-1 victory over Bayelsa Princesses FC in Aba, with four opening-day matches producing 24 goals. The Group B hosts set the tone for a campaign that will determine the clubs promoted to the 2027 NWFL Championship.
Ohuche Agnes put C2E ahead in the second minute, and Nwaboghogu Oluchi struck twice before the half-hour mark. Temple Glory added another goal before the interval, leaving Bayelsa with a large deficit at the break.
Ohuche continued her scoring run after half-time, adding goals in the 48th, 52nd and 62nd minutes. Ngozi Miracle and Ogu Stella, who scored twice, completed C2E’s ten-goal tally. Amameniye Naomi scored Bayelsa Princesses’ consolation in the 81st minute.
The other three matches also produced winners, ensuring there was no draw on the opening day. Solo Wonders Babes FC defeated Spunky Blazers FA 2-1 in Group A after Ndiribe Chinenye scored twice in the first 18 minutes. Enabulele Mercy pulled one back for Spunky Blazers nine minutes after the interval, but the comeback stopped there.
Onimarg FC won 3-1 against NAF Queens in Group C. Yusuf Islamiat scored twice inside the opening 22 minutes, while Ogunlari Adewunmi added a third late on. NAF Queens’ goal came through an own goal by Olufisayo Daleborah.
Obosa Queens had to withstand a late fightback to beat Plateau United Queens 3-2 in Group D. Nnachi Chinemerem, Oprah Emmanuel and Aliu Rofia gave Obosa a three-goal lead before Okoloko Juliet scored twice for Plateau United Queens. Obosa’s Oliwo Towin was dismissed in the 86th minute after receiving a second yellow card, but Plateau United could not complete the recovery. The results leave the promotion contest underway after a high-scoring first round in Aba.
