Ghana midfielder Salifu Moro joins Nejmeh SC from Al-Ta’awon

Ghanaian defensive midfielder Salifu Moro has joined Lebanese Premier League side Nejmeh SC from Libya’s Al-Ta’awon. The move was completed on 16 August 2026, with the 27-year-old added to Nejmeh’s squad for the 2026-27 season.

Moro, who was born in Tarkwa, is a right-footed midfielder standing 1.91 metres tall. He has been assigned number 16 at the Beirut-based club and arrives after a short spell in the Libyan Premier League.

The midfielder joined Al-Ta’awon in February 2026 after spending several months without a club. That move followed his departure from Egyptian side Ittihad Alex in July 2025, and his switch to Nejmeh now takes him into a third North African and Middle Eastern football environment.

Moro began his senior career with Medeama before moving to Bechem United in January 2017. He later played for Ivory Coast’s AFAD Djekanou for two seasons, returned to Bechem United in 2020 and earned a move to Ittihad Alex in August 2021.

Across his career, Moro has made 95 appearances in Premier League competition, scoring once and providing two assists. He also played six matches in the Libyan Premier League, where he recorded one goal and one assist. His experience includes appearances in the Egyptian League Cup, Egypt Cup, relegation play-offs and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Nejmeh have recruited Moro to strengthen their options in defensive midfield as they prepare for the new Lebanese Premier League campaign. The move extends a club career that has taken him from Ghana to Ivory Coast, Egypt, Libya and now Lebanon.
