Osimhen scores twice as Galatasaray draw 2-2 with Corum

Victor Osimhen scored two goals to rescue a 2-2 draw for Galatasaray against newly promoted Corum in their Turkish Super Lig season opener.

Victor Osimhen scored twice to ensure Galatasaray earned a 2-2 draw against newly promoted Corum on Friday. The goals from the striker helped the league champions secure a point in their opening match of the Turkish Super Lig season.

Galatasaray struggled during a difficult first half against the newcomers. The deadlock was finally broken in the 53rd minute when Osimhen found the net to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. However, Corum responded quickly, with Alexandros Kyziridis equalising just six minutes later.

The momentum shifted again when Jesus Ramirez scored only two minutes after the equaliser to put Corum 2-1 ahead. Corum's advantage was short-lived, however, as Kyziridis received a straight red card in the 70th minute.

Playing with a numerical advantage, Galatasaray increased their pressure in the closing stages of the match. Osimhen scored his second goal of the game in the 90th minute to finish the contest in a stalemate.

This performance marks a strong start to the campaign for the 2023 African Player of the Year. His two goals come amid ongoing summer transfer speculation linking the striker with a move away from the Istanbul club, with Arsenal identified as a potential admirer.
