Rangers and Shooting Stars to host CAF matches in Abeokuta

Rangers and Shooting Stars SC have selected the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta for their upcoming CAF continental home fixtures.

Rangers and Shooting Stars will host their CAF continental home matches at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta. Both clubs have moved away from their initial plans to use the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne for these fixtures.

NPFL champions Rangers had previously reached an agreement with the management of Remo Stars to host their home games at the Remo Stars Sports Complex. This arrangement was intended to provide a venue for their continental campaign. However, the Flying Antelopes have since changed their decision.

The decision to move to Abeokuta followed discussions between the club and their technical crew. This technical team is led by Fidelis Ilechukwu. After these consultations, the club settled on the MKO Abiola Sports Complex as the new location for their home matches.

Shooting Stars had also initially picked the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne to serve as their home ground. Like Rangers, they will now relocate their continental home fixtures to the stadium in Abeokuta.

Rangers are set to begin their CAF Champions League campaign in the first preliminary round. They will face AS Sobemap of Benin Republic in this opening stage of the competition.

Shooting Stars will compete in the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Their opponents for this stage are the Tunisian side CS Sfaxien. Both clubs will now prepare to host these important matches in Abeokuta.
