Rashford could be United's best signing, says Ruud Gullit

Ruud Gullit believes Marcus Rashford has the potential to be Manchester United's most impactful signing this summer. The former Netherlands international suggests the forward could become a vital asset if he brings the form he displayed during his time in Spain back to Old Trafford.

Rashford returned to Manchester United this summer following a loan spell at Barcelona. During his campaign in Catalonia, the 28-year-old recorded 14 goals and 11 assists. Although his individual performance was strong, Barcelona chose not to exercise a €30 million (£26 million) option to secure his services on a permanent basis.

Gullit argues that Rashford's time in Spain provided him with more freedom and improved his play compared to his previous stints at Manchester United. He suggests that the player learned significant lessons during his stay in the Catalan capital which could benefit his boyhood club.

The former Chelsea manager also questioned whether Rashford's previous struggles at United were the fault of the player or the club's environment. He noted that it is simple to blame the individual, but Rashford's success elsewhere indicates that the previous surroundings may have been the issue.
