Ryota Toyoshima wins OPBF super welterweight title by UD 3-0

Ryota Toyoshima defeated Tsukuru Midorikawa by unanimous decision in Tokyo to win the OPBF super welterweight title and retain his WBO Asia Pacific belt.

Ryota Toyoshima became the new Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation super welterweight champion after defeating Tsukuru Midorikawa by unanimous decision in Tokyo. The judges awarded the bout to Toyoshima 3-0 after the scheduled 10 rounds at Korakuen Hall.

The contest was a unification fight, with Toyoshima defending his WBO Asia Pacific super welterweight title while Midorikawa entered as the reigning OPBF champion. Toyoshima left the ring holding both regional belts in the 154-pound division.

Toyoshima established control early and maintained it through the fight. His accuracy and ability to manage distance allowed him to dictate the pace, while Midorikawa continued to press forward and refused to give up ground.

That pressure did not change the judges’ verdict. The unanimous decision confirmed Toyoshima’s advantage across the 10-round contest and ended Midorikawa’s reign as OPBF super welterweight champion.

The bout was presented by Teiken Promotions at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall. Joshua Hamilton was the referee, while Tsuyoshi Yasukochi supervised the championship proceedings.

The victory strengthens Toyoshima’s standing in Asian boxing and gives him two regional titles at super welterweight. It also places him closer to a potential world-title opportunity after a decisive win over the division’s previous OPBF champion.
