Timo Schultz praises Daniel Kyereh after Osnabruck signing

VfL Osnabruck head coach Timo Schultz has praised the special qualities of Daniel Kofi Kyereh following the 30-year-old's arrival at the club. The Ghana international joined Osnabruck on a free transfer, marking a reunion with Schultz, who previously managed him at FC St. Pauli.

Schultz noted that Kyereh was a significant difference-maker during their time together at St. Pauli. The coach highlighted that the attacker earned his success through both his footballing talent and a strong work ethic. Kyereh is expected to wear the number 7 shirt for the German side.

Kyereh's most successful period in German football occurred under Schultz's guidance. During two seasons at St. Pauli, the versatile player recorded 21 goals and 20 assists across 62 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. His most notable season was the 2021/22 campaign, where he registered 12 goals and 10 assists during a promotion push.

The move follows a difficult period for the attacker, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in February 2023 while playing for SC Freiburg. After a long rehabilitation process, he returned to competitive play with Freiburg II earlier this year. Osnabruck has monitored his recovery and expects him to join first-team training once he reaches full fitness.

Kyereh brings international experience to the squad, having earned 18 caps for Ghana. He was a participant in all three of the Black Stars' group stage matches during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
