Vincent Klu-Adjei joins FC Basel U21 from Berekum Chelsea in 2026

Ghanaian midfielder Vincent Klu-Adjei, 18, has moved from Berekum Chelsea to FC Basel U21 after 66 top-flight appearances.

Ghanaian midfielder Vincent Klu-Adjei has completed a move from Berekum Chelsea to FC Basel’s Under-21 team. The transfer was finalised on 21 August 2026, taking the 18-year-old into Swiss football and the next phase of his development.

Klu-Adjei, born on 22 May 2008, spent the past two seasons with Berekum Chelsea. He joined the club from Berekum Chelsea II on 1 September 2024, making the step up from the reserve side to senior football in Ghana’s top division.

His time in the Ghana Premier League produced 66 appearances, three goals and 3,248 minutes on the pitch. The midfielder’s goals came at an average of one every 1,083 minutes, underlining the experience he gained primarily through regular involvement rather than scoring output.

Basel’s Under-21 side competes in the Promotion League, Switzerland’s third tier. Klu-Adjei will therefore move from Ghana’s top flight into a different domestic competition while remaining within a club development structure designed to support young players.

The transfer continues the progression that began with his move from Berekum Chelsea II to the senior Berekum Chelsea team. He now becomes another Ghanaian player moving from the country’s domestic league to European football, with Switzerland providing his first club setting outside Ghana.

Klu-Adjei’s recorded market value is €50,000, while the fee for the transfer has not been disclosed. No expiry date has been announced for his agreement with FC Basel U21.
