ABS FC unveil Festus Allen as head coach for 2026-27 NNL season

Ilorin club ABS FC have presented veteran coach Festus Allen on a one-year deal, with promotion to the NPFL and youth development among his tasks.

ABS FC have named veteran tactician Festus Allen as their new head coach ahead of the 2026-27 Nigeria National League season. The Ilorin-based club has tasked him with guiding its bid for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Allen’s appointment was formally presented at the Taiwo Awoniyi Media Centre inside George Innih Stadium, Ilorin. The unveiling confirms the club’s choice of an experienced coach to take charge as preparations for the new NNL campaign move forward.

The coach has agreed to a one-year contract with ABS FC. His brief extends beyond the team’s immediate results, with the club also expecting him to contribute to the development of young players.

A major part of Allen’s responsibility will be identifying and assessing emerging talent for the squad. He is expected to scout young players who can strengthen ABS FC ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

The club’s stated sporting objective is a return to the NPFL through promotion from the NNL. Allen will therefore combine talent development with the demand for a promotion challenge during his first season in charge.

His appointment gives ABS FC a defined technical direction before the new campaign. The one-year arrangement places the focus on the work to be done across the upcoming season, including building a young squad and pursuing the club’s promotion target.
