Adam Darby to Headline Dana White's Contender Series Week 4 in 2026

Dublin welterweight Adam Darby will face Patrick Rivera in Las Vegas on September 1, with a UFC contract at stake in Week 4.

Adam “The Plank” Darby will headline Week 4 of the 2026 Dana White’s Contender Series when he meets Patrick Rivera at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on September 1. The Dublin welterweight will have a UFC contract within reach on the night.

Darby enters the contest with a 7-1 professional record and has won six consecutive fights. Six of his seven victories have come inside the distance, underlining the finishing threat he brings into his biggest professional opportunity.

The Team Ryano MMA fighter last competed at Cage Warriors’ CW 200 in Dublin in February. He stopped Thiago Habib with a Ninja Choke after one minute and 22 seconds in the opening round, earning a Performance of the Night bonus and extending his winning run.

Darby began his professional career with Cage Warriors in 2022 and has since recorded victories over Robert Alexandru Constantin, Tato Primera, Thorsten Jakobs and Jack Tucker. His other win during the current streak came by unanimous decision against Tomasz Łangowski. His only defeat came against Mush Aslani in his third professional bout at CW 147.

Rivera brings a 13-4 record and a six-fight winning streak of his own to the main event. The American welterweight has stopped five of his last six opponents, giving both fighters a strong recent record and a clear history of finishing contests.

Darby, who is 6ft 3in, will be aiming to become the latest Cage Warriors fighter to use the promotion as a route to the UFC. The event will be held live at the UFC APEX and will be available on UFC Fight Pass.
