Armah creates both goals as KuPS beat FC Lahti 2-1 in Veikkausliiga
Bob Nii Armah assisted Tommi Jyry and Joslyn Luyeye-Lutumba as KuPS recovered from an early goal to beat FC Lahti 2-1 away.
Kuopion Palloseura defeated FC Lahti 2-1 in the Veikkausliiga, with Ghanaian midfielder Bob Nii Armah creating both KuPS goals. The result extended KuPS’ run to three wins in their last five matches, after they had suffered two defeats in that sequence.
Lahti took the lead in the second minute through Otso Koskinen, who finished a pass from Momodou Sarr. KuPS responded nine minutes later when Armah provided the opening for Tommi Jyry to level the score.
Armah remained central to KuPS’ response and helped them complete the turnaround in the 17th minute. His delivery found Joslyn Luyeye-Lutumba, who converted to put the visitors in front before the interval.
Lahti pushed for a second equaliser after half-time, but KuPS retained their advantage to secure the away victory. Armah’s involvement ended in the 67th minute when Saikou Touray replaced him.
The win keeps KuPS at the top of the Veikkausliiga standings and gives them an important three points after an uneven recent run. Their previous five results had included victories over Vaasan Palloseura and SJK Seinajoki, alongside defeats against Sabah FA twice and Vardar Skopje.
Armah was rated 7.8 for his display and finished as the highest-rated player in the match. His two assists were the decisive contributions as KuPS recovered from the early setback and held on to lead the game’s result.
