Ayyoub Bouaddi says yes to Manchester City transfer from Lille

Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has agreed to join Manchester City, with the 18-year-old Morocco and France international attracting major interest.

Ayyoub Bouaddi has said yes to a move from Lille to Manchester City, with talks between the clubs progressing over a transfer for the 18-year-old midfielder. Bouaddi currently plays central midfield for Lille and is regarded as one of the most highly valued young players at the French club.

The teenager has told Lille that he wants to leave for Manchester City. City have followed his development closely and are confident of completing the move after advancing discussions with Lille. The proposed switch would take Bouaddi from Ligue 1 to the Premier League.

Bouaddi’s recent rise has made him a prominent name in Morocco’s squad. He also holds French citizenship, but has represented Morocco at international level. His performances at the World Cup strengthened his standing and drew further attention from Manchester City.

City see Bouaddi as a midfielder capable of handling demanding matches despite his age. His ability to compete with more experienced players has been identified as an important reason for the club’s interest. The move would give him the opportunity to continue his development within one of England’s leading teams.

Bouaddi came through Lille’s youth structure after joining from Creil Youth. He progressed from Lille’s youth side to the Under-17 team, then moved to Lille Under-19 before stepping into the senior setup. That pathway has now placed him at the centre of a major transfer involving Manchester City.

Lille value Bouaddi at €80 million, underlining his importance to the club and the scale of the expected deal. The transfer is not yet presented as completed, but Bouaddi’s decision to accept City’s proposal has moved the negotiations forward. His next club is expected to be confirmed once the agreement between Lille and Manchester City is finalised.
