Butterfly Brawl returns to Santa Monica Pier with 15-bout card

FightBook and Bash Boxing will stage the Butterfly Brawl at Santa Monica Pier on August 22, with proceeds supporting Teen Cancer America.

The Butterfly Brawl is set to return to Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, August 22, with a 15-bout boxing programme promoted by Bash Boxing and presented by FightBook. All net proceeds from the event will go to Teen Cancer America.

Jalan Walker headlines the card against Nicaraguan veteran Alexander Espinoza in a scheduled 10-round contest. Walker enters with a 16-1-1 record and 11 knockouts, while Espinoza has recorded 24 wins, nine defeats and three draws.

Unbeaten DeAngelo Evans will also fight on the card as he aims to preserve a perfect record. Evans is 15-0, with 14 of his victories coming by knockout.

Tommy Hyde is another undefeated fighter scheduled to compete. He carries a 13-0 record into his bout with Vaughn Williams, who has won 13 fights and lost two.

The wider programme includes prospects from the DMG Boxing, Top Rank and Golden Boy promotional stables, as well as contests involving rising contenders. The event will feature 15 bouts in total.

Three-division undisputed world champion Terence “Bud” Crawford is due to attend. The entertainment programme includes performances by Mixmaster Mike of the Beastie Boys, Mellow Man Ace, A Lighter Shade of Brown and Stefano.

The card will be available live through BASH TV from 2pm Pacific Time. The pay-per-view price is listed at $29.99.
