C2E Sports Academy, Obosa Queens win 4-2 to seal 2027 NWFL promotion
C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens will play in the 2027 NWFL Championship after 4-2 semi-final wins in the NWFL Nationwide 2026.
C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens have both secured places in the 2027 NWFL Championship after 4-2 semi-final victories in the NWFL Nationwide 2026. The wins also sent the two clubs into the competition final, where they will meet for the title.
C2E Sports Academy completed its promotion campaign by defeating Kwara United Queens 4-2. The Aba-based side’s result earned it a place in the deciding match and confirmed its arrival in Nigeria’s second-tier women’s league for the 2027 season.
Obosa Queens reached the same destination after recovering from a two-goal disadvantage to beat Onimarg FC 4-2. The semi-final was played at Enyimba Stadium in Aba, with the Lagos club’s turnaround securing both promotion and a final berth.
The two victories mean the final will be contested by teams that have already achieved the main league objective from their Nationwide campaigns. Neither side now needs to win the competition decider to gain promotion, but the trophy remains at stake in their last match of the 2026 campaign.
For C2E Sports Academy, promotion provides an opportunity to measure its progress against more established women’s football clubs in the NWFL Championship. The move also extends the development of the Aba outfit after its successful run through the Nationwide competition.
Obosa Queens will join them in the Championship as the Lagos club continues its efforts to build a place among Nigeria’s leading women’s teams. Their final meeting with C2E will now decide which of the newly promoted sides finishes the campaign as NWFL Nationwide 2026 champion.
