Chris Waddle advises Bradley Barcola to choose Liverpool over Arsenal

Former England player Chris Waddle has suggested that PSG winger Bradley Barcola should join Liverpool instead of Arsenal to ensure greater tactical freedom.

Former England footballer Chris Waddle has advised Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola to reject a move to Arsenal in favour of Liverpool. Both Premier League clubs are currently interested in the 23-year-old, who is reportedly available for a fee of €140 million.

Waddle suggested that the French and Togolese international would find more success under the management of Andoni Iraola at Liverpool. He argued that the tactical approach at Liverpool would allow Barcola to play with more autonomy and express his natural game.

In contrast, Waddle believes Mikel Arteta's management style at Arsenal might limit the winger's impact. He stated that Arteta could be too concerned about the risk of Barcola losing possession, which could reduce the player's effectiveness by as much as 50% or 75%.

The winger, who currently holds a market value of €90 million, is looking to depart the Ligue 1 side to secure more regular playing time. Waddle noted that Barcola's ability to take on defenders is a key part of his game, an attribute he believes Iraola would encourage rather than restrict.

Barcola's career has seen him progress through the youth ranks at Olympique Lyon before his €45 million move to PSG in the 23/24 season. The left winger is now at the center of a summer pursuit between two major English clubs.
