FC Samartex lead Ghana Premier League race for Vision FC's Sowah
FC Samartex are ahead of Hearts of Oak in the pursuit of Vision FC midfielder Meshack Adjetey Sowah after his 2025/26 breakthrough.
Vision FC midfielder Meshack Adjetey Sowah, 21, made 25 Ghana Premier League appearances in 2025/26 and scored three goals. FC Samartex are currently ahead of Hearts of Oak in the pursuit of the player, with the Timber Giants working to complete the move soon.
Sowah played more than 2,100 minutes for Vision FC during the campaign and has emerged as one of the domestic league’s most promising midfielders. His performances have also earned him a place in the Black Galaxies squad.
Samartex’s position at the front of the race reflects their desire to improve their midfield options before the new Ghana Premier League campaign. The club finished fifth last season on 50 points and are targeting a stronger challenge in the top flight.
The Timber Giants have made substantial progress in discussions and are seeking to bring the midfielder to their squad. Hearts of Oak remain interested, however, and could still affect the outcome if they step up their efforts.
Sowah’s addition would give Samartex another option in midfield after an inconsistent recent sequence. They defeated Hearts of Oak and Basake Holy Stars, but lost to Young Apostles, Hearts U21 and Bibiani Goldstars in their other three listed matches.
Samartex’s next fixture is at home to Karela in the Ghana Premier League on September 5, 2026. The club’s pursuit of Sowah is expected to become clearer as they try to turn their current advantage in the transfer race into an agreement.
