Ghana defender Samuel Ofori completes Indonesia move to Persijap

Ghanaian centre-back Samuel Ofori has joined Indonesia’s Persijap from Cambodia’s Kirivong FC on a free transfer completed on 17 August 2026.

Ghanaian defender Samuel Ofori, 27, has joined Indonesian club Persijap from Cambodia’s Kirivong FC. The free transfer was completed on 17 August 2026, moving the centre-back from the Cambodian Premier League to Indonesia’s Super League.

Ofori is now part of Persijap’s defensive group after spending time with Kirivong. The move continues a career shaped by football in Asia, with the Accra-born defender having played in Cambodia, Tajikistan and other Asian competitions.

The right-footed defender is 1.85 metres tall and has operated mainly at centre-back. His senior record includes 73 appearances and two goals in the Vysshaya Liga, while he made 27 appearances, scored twice and supplied four assists in the Cambodian Premier League.

Ofori has also played in continental competition, making six appearances in the AFC Cup and five in the AFC Champions League Two. His recorded playing time includes 6,335 minutes in the Vysshaya Liga and 2,397 minutes in Cambodia’s top flight.

Before arriving at Persijap, Ofori played for Khosilot and Ravshan Kulob. He moved from Ravshan to Khosilot in February 2025 and joined Kirivong in July that year, with each of those recent transfers completed without a fee. His earlier switch to Ravshan came from The Dolphins FC in January 2022.

Ofori’s only recorded senior honour came with Ravshan, when he won the Tajikistan Super Cup during the 2022-23 season. Persijap is his latest club since that period and gives the Indonesian side a defender with experience from several Asian leagues and continental tournaments.
