Ghana Premier League clubs to receive GHS 1m each, winner GHS 3m
Ghana Premier League clubs are set to receive GHS 1 million each, while the league winner will collect a GHS 3 million prize.
Ghana Premier League clubs are set to receive GHS 1 million each, while the winner of the competition will take home GHS 3 million. The financial package was announced by Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku.
The planned payment gives every club in the league a stated allocation of GHS 1 million. That amount is separate from the GHS 3 million reserved for the eventual champion, meaning the winning club is due both the general club allocation and the competition prize under the announced arrangement.
Okraku’s announcement places direct financial support for participating clubs alongside a larger reward for the team that finishes first. The structure therefore recognises all clubs covered by the plan while assigning the biggest single payment to the league winner.
For the clubs, the GHS 1 million figure is the central part of the package. It applies across the GPL clubs rather than being limited to the champion. The additional GHS 3 million prize creates a clear difference between the standard allocation and the payment attached to winning the league.
The announcement does not provide further details on when the payments will be made or how the funds will be distributed. It establishes the values of the two payments: GHS 1 million for each GPL club and GHS 3 million for the winner.
The package also gives the competition a defined financial headline ahead of the title outcome. Every club included in the arrangement has the same stated base amount, while the team that wins the league is set to receive the larger prize. Okraku’s figures make the winner’s award three times the individual club allocation, before any other financial considerations that may apply.
