Ghana’s Black Asteroids ready for FIFAe Continental Africa 2026

Ghana’s Black Asteroids will represent the country at the FIFAe Continental Championship Africa in Casablanca, Morocco, as they pursue progress in the FIFAe World Cup pathway. The tournament is scheduled for 27 to 29 August 2026, with Ghana’s eFootball Console campaign taking place on 28 August.

The squad secured its place through a campaign built around collective play, discipline and consistency. Ghana will be one of eight leading African eFootball nations at the event, where the team’s ability to work together in the 2v2 format will be central to its hopes.

Emmanuel Lawson leads the team as coach and has overseen the players’ preparation for international competition. His responsibilities include shaping the squad’s tactical approach and building the unity needed for matches in which coordination between the two players on the virtual pitch can decide the outcome.

Captain Wondhakid brings more than 14 years of experience in esports to the team. He has been a significant figure in Ghana’s qualification campaign and is expected to contribute through his competitive experience, game management and leadership when the Black Asteroids begin their tournament schedule.

Medicine gives Ghana another established player for the continental stage. He has been recognised as Ghana’s leading 1v1 eFootball player and as one of the strongest competitors in West Africa over several years. His stated ambition is to help the national team move closer to qualification for the FIFAe World Cup 2026.

Lawson, Wondhakid and Medicine have each placed the team’s shared effort at the centre of Ghana’s campaign. For Lawson, the event is an opportunity to show the development of Ghanaian eFootball, while Wondhakid has stressed the value of teamwork and intelligence beyond individual ability. Medicine has also committed to giving his best for the team in Casablanca.

The Black Asteroids will therefore arrive with a clear objective: advance through the African championship and keep Ghana’s World Cup hopes alive. Their matches on 28 August will carry the country’s esports ambitions into a tournament featuring eight of the continent’s top eFootball nations.
