Ghana Taekwondo Federation appoints Gliukpor technical director
Simon Koku Gliukpor has been named Ghana Taekwondo Federation technical director as the organisation begins its 2026–2030 development cycle.
Simon Koku Gliukpor has been appointed technical director of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF), taking responsibility for the sport’s technical direction during the federation’s 2026–2030 development cycle. Hannah Akua Humphrey has also been added to the federation’s Executive Board.
The appointments were made by GTF president Frederick Lartey Otu and communicated in a notice signed by secretary-general Kankpenuba Peter Nuntaa Wisdom. They form part of an administrative reorganisation aimed at strengthening the federation’s structure for the new term.
Gliukpor brings experience from both competition and officiating. He was previously a national-level taekwondo competitor and has also worked as an international referee. His new role places him at the centre of the federation’s technical planning and performance work.
He is expected to provide technical leadership while working with the Executive Board, regional associations, coaches, referees and athletes. The mandate covers taekwondo development and performance across Ghana, with regional officials asked to maintain regular communication with him on technical matters.
Humphrey’s board role will focus on supporting the implementation of federation policies and programmes. She has a background in sports administration and grassroots advocacy, and will also assist with financial responsibilities assigned by the Executive Board.
The GTF said the appointments reflect its objective of establishing a professional, coordinated and development-focused administration for the 2026–2030 period. It has asked its member regional associations to cooperate with both appointees and respect their responsibilities as the federation carries out its programmes.
