Ghanaian defender Arnold Adu-Boahen has joined Finnish top-flight side VPS on loan from AC Horsens for the rest of the season.
Ghanaian defender Arnold Adu-Boahen has joined Finnish top-flight side Vaasan Palloseura, known as VPS, on loan from Danish club AC Horsens. The agreement runs until the end of the season and gives the 18-year-old another opportunity to continue his development in Scandinavia.
Adu-Boahen has already made his first appearance for VPS. He featured in the club’s meeting with Hercules and was involved as VPS recorded a 3-1 victory. His early involvement came after his arrival from the AC Horsens youth setup.
The teenager had been playing for AC Horsens’ Under-18 side before securing the temporary move. VPS have brought him into their ranks with the expectation that he will compete for a place in the senior team during the remainder of the campaign.
Adu-Boahen moved to Europe last year from AsanSka FC. Since then, he has continued to build his career in Scandinavia, with the switch to Finland providing a new setting and a route towards regular senior football.
His arrival also creates a Ghanaian connection within VPS’ defensive group. He will compete for opportunities alongside compatriot Razak Simpson, who is already part of the Finnish club’s defensive options.
The move places Adu-Boahen in Finnish top-flight football at a young age, while his opening appearance against Hercules has allowed him to begin adapting to his new club immediately. VPS will assess his progress as he seeks to establish himself in the first-team picture before returning to AC Horsens at the end of the loan period.
