Hearts of Oak complete Vincent Anane signing ahead of new season

Hearts of Oak have signed 22-year-old goalkeeper Vincent Anane as a free agent, bringing him back to the Ghana Premier League after spells in Albania.

Hearts of Oak have completed the signing of goalkeeper Vincent Anane, adding the 22-year-old to their squad ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season. Anane joins the Phobians as a free agent and returns to Ghana’s top flight after playing abroad.

Born on August 15, 2003, Anane has already gained experience with clubs in both Ghana and Albania. His arrival strengthens the goalkeeping department as Hearts of Oak continue assembling their squad for the campaign ahead.

Anane started his senior career with Legon Cities. He was part of the club’s squad during the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons before moving to Heart of Lions, where he featured in the Ghanaian top flight.

The goalkeeper later left Ghana for FK Apolonia Fier in Albania. He played for the club in the country’s second tier, giving him experience outside the Ghana Premier League before his return to the domestic competition.

His move to Hearts of Oak comes after the club resolved an administrative obstacle affecting player registrations. A FIFA-imposed transfer ban was lifted after Hearts settled a dispute involving former technical director René Hiddink.

With the restriction removed, the club can proceed with new registrations as it finalises preparations for the upcoming season. Anane now becomes part of that recruitment work, bringing previous Ghana Premier League experience and a spell in the Albanian second tier to the Hearts of Oak squad.
