Kansanshi Dynamos sign Joseph Ssemujju for 2026 Transitional League

Kansanshi Dynamos have added Ugandan striker Joseph Ssemujju on a 17-month deal as they prepare for the 2026 Transitional League.

Kansanshi Dynamos have signed Ugandan forward Joseph Ssemujju on a 17-month contract. The agreement runs from August 2026 to December 2027 as the Solwezi club prepares for the 2026 Transitional League.

Ssemujju joins as a free agent after his latest spell with Uganda Premier League side URA FC. He is primarily a striker and becomes the latest addition to a Kansanshi squad being reshaped before the new competition begins.

The Transitional League is scheduled to start on 3 October. Kansanshi general secretary Mweshi Mupeta said the club expects Ssemujju’s abilities to strengthen the team and contribute to its push for a competitive campaign.

The forward has placed goals at the centre of his target for the move. He also intends to develop his game while helping Kansanshi meet the club’s objectives during the new campaign.

Kansanshi finished 11th in the 2025 Zambia Super League with 43 points from 34 matches. Their record was 10 wins, 13 draws and 11 defeats, with 28 goals scored and 26 conceded. The numbers point to a closely balanced season, with the side winning fewer than a third of its matches.

Their latest results show a team that has been difficult to beat but limited in attack. Kansanshi drew 0-0 with Nkana, lost 1-0 away to Nkwazi, beat Prison Leopards 1-0, drew 0-0 against Power Dynamos and defeated Green Buffaloes 1-0. Those five matches produced two wins, two draws and one loss, with only two goals scored, making Ssemujju’s arrival relevant to the club’s effort to add more threat in front of goal.
