Kayole Starlets’ Lavyne Achola joins Haymana Spor in Turkey

Kenyan defender Lavyne Achola has left Kayole Starlets for Turkish top-flight side Haymana Spor on a one-year deal with an extension option.

Kayole Starlets have confirmed the permanent transfer of Lavyne Achola to Turkish side Haymana Spor Kulübü. The young Kenyan has signed a one-year contract with the Ankara-based club, which also includes an option to extend the agreement.

Achola joined Kayole from Acakoro Academy, now known as Gor Mahia Queens, during the 2024/25 season. She made 46 appearances for the Eastlands-based side and became an important figure in their promotion to the FKF Women’s Premier League in her first campaign.

Although she arrived as a winger, Achola developed into a left-back during her time at Kayole. Her work on the left side, including her deliveries and crossing, made her a regular threat while also allowing her to contribute in a more defensive role.

Kayole described Achola as committed, disciplined and professional during her spell with the club. She was also highly regarded by her teammates and supporters, bringing an end to a period in which she established herself as one of the team’s key players.

Her move takes her to a Haymana team that has risen quickly through the Turkish game. The club climbed from the third division to the top tier over the past three years, having previously operated largely as an amateur outfit before its recent professional growth.

Achola becomes the latest Kenyan female footballer to continue her career abroad. Her transfer gives her an opportunity to compete in Turkey after helping Kayole reach the country’s top domestic women’s division.
