Nigerian forward Yetunde Ayantosho has completed her move to Turkey after signing for Safi MCL Bentoni̇t Ünye Kadın Futbol Kulübü. She will play in the Kadın Futbol Süper Ligi, the country’s highest women’s football division.
The transfer opens a new stage in Ayantosho’s career as she leaves the Nigerian football environment to continue her development in Turkey. The attacker will be expected to bring additional options to Ünye’s forward line as the club prepares for another demanding campaign in the elite division.
Ayantosho has previous experience with Nigeria’s youth national teams, having represented the country at both under-17 and under-20 level. Those appearances formed part of her progression as an attacker and gave her exposure to international football before this move abroad.
Her next task will be adapting to a different league, team and football environment. Ayantosho is focused on learning, working hard and contributing to her new club while using the opportunity to develop further as a player.
The forward will also begin settling in Ordu Province, where Ünye is based. The move gives her the chance to test herself against some of Turkey’s leading women’s players and make an impression in one of the country’s top competitions.
For Ayantosho, the transfer follows her journey through Nigeria’s youth setup and provides a fresh platform at club level. She now starts life with Ünye Kadın Futbol Kulübü determined to make the most of her opportunity in Turkish football.
