Peter Olayinka completes permanent move to Saudi club Al Wehda
Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has joined Al Wehda permanently after leaving APOEL Nicosia, where he scored twice in 14 league appearances.
Peter Olayinka has completed a permanent move to Saudi Arabian club Al Wehda, leaving APOEL Nicosia after the two sides ended their association. The Nigerian forward joins the Saudi club as a free agent.
The 30-year-old spent his latest spell in Cyprus, scoring two goals in 14 league appearances for APOEL. His departure from the club paved the way for the move to Al Wehda, also known as the Red Giants.
Olayinka has built a career across several European leagues. Before arriving in Saudi Arabia, he played in Czechia, Serbia, Cyprus and Belgium, establishing himself as a forward capable of operating in more than one attacking role.
His strongest period came at Slavia Prague in the Czech First Division. During his time with the club, he won three league titles and three Czech Cups, making the Prague side the most successful stop of his career.
He also collected major domestic honours with Serbian club Red Star Belgrade. Olayinka helped Red Star complete the domestic double on two occasions, adding to the list of trophies he secured before moving to Al Wehda.
The forward has also represented Nigeria at international level. He was part of the Super Eagles squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, and his move to Al Wehda now adds Saudi Arabia to his list of football destinations.
