Rockson Yeboah bids IFK Goteburg farewell after Osasuna move

Ghana defender Rockson Yeboah has thanked IFK Goteburg after signing a five-year contract with LaLiga side Osasuna.

Rockson Yeboah, 22, has joined LaLiga side Osasuna on a five-year contract after spending two years with Swedish club IFK Goteburg. The Ghanaian defender confirmed his departure with an emotional farewell message to the club and its supporters.

Yeboah expressed gratitude for the time he spent in Sweden, highlighting the staff, teammates and fans who shaped his spell at Goteburg. He also indicated that the move to Spain represents the beginning of a fresh stage in his professional career.

The defender made 36 appearances for Goteburg during his two seasons with the club and scored two goals. Before moving to Sweden, he had spent time in Greece with AEK Athens.

His transfer to Osasuna is valued at €3 million, while the agreement includes a €30 million release clause. The size of the clause underlines the long-term value Osasuna place on the Ghanaian, who will now compete for a place in their defence.

Osasuna are listed seventh in the LaLiga 2026 table, although they have yet to play a league match and currently have zero points with a 0-0 goal record. Their recent form stands at one win and four defeats, including a 2-0 victory over Racing Santander and losses to Getafe, Espanyol, Atlético Madrid and Levante.

The Spanish side’s next fixture is at home against Levante on 24 August. Yeboah’s move comes before that match as he settles into his new club after closing his Goteburg chapter with a public farewell.
