RTU forward Rahim Akanta wins 2026 X1 DOL Super Cup Golden Boot

Real Tamale United forward Rahim Akanta scored three goals to finish top of the 2026 X1 DOL Super Cup scoring chart despite RTU’s group-stage exit.

Real Tamale United forward Rahim Akanta has won the Golden Boot at the 2026 X1 DOL Super Cup after scoring three goals. His tally was enough to make him the competition’s leading scorer, even though RTU did not progress beyond the group stage.

Akanta opened his account when RTU lost 4-1 to Ebusua Dwarfs. The result ultimately came against the side that went on to win the Super Cup, but the defeat left RTU needing a stronger return in its remaining group fixtures.

The forward delivered that response against Debibi United, scoring twice in RTU’s 4-1 victory. Those goals took him to three for the tournament and secured his position at the top of the scoring standings.

RTU finished third in its group with three points and failed to claim a place in the knockout rounds. The team’s early elimination meant Akanta had no further opportunity to add to his total, but his two-goal display against Debibi United kept him ahead of the other scorers.

The award gives Akanta individual recognition despite RTU’s group-stage campaign ending early. His three goals also provide a positive start as he prepares for the new Division One League season with Real Tamale United.
