Sheu Close beat Amusa Street 2-0 in First Bank Lagos Soccer

Sheu Close defeated Amusa Street 2-0 to win Season Two of the First Bank Lagos Street Soccer championship in Oshodi.

Sheu Close won Season Two of the First Bank Lagos Street Soccer championship after defeating Amusa Street 2-0 in Saturday’s final at Oloyede Street, Oshodi.

The tournament began with 64 teams and ran for 14 days under the theme “Oshodi Hidden Talents”. The participating sides represented communities across Lagos State, with 640 players involved in the competition.

Sheu Close’s victory earned the champions the N1 million first prize from the N3.5 million reward pool. Amusa Street received N750,000 as runners-up, while Oremeji Street collected N500,000 after finishing third.

Oremeji secured third place earlier on the final day with a 6-1 victory over Salawu Street. The competition’s biggest score came in the knockout stage, when Babayanju Street defeated Oluwani Street 7-1 to reach the quarter-finals.

The event was backed by First Bank through its First@Sports initiative, which supports youth development, healthy living and community participation. It also provided a platform for identifying talented players and connecting them with possible opportunities at football academies and professional clubs.

Individual awards carried prizes of N100,000, including the Golden Boot, Most Valuable Player, Young Player, Best Street Team, Fair Play Team, Community Spirit and Goal of the Tournament categories. Players who stood out in each match also received N10,000 and recognition.
