Wanyama backs Tottenham to win 2026/27 Premier League, drops Man United
Harambee Stars legend Victor Wanyama predicts Tottenham will win the 2026/27 Premier League ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.
Victor Wanyama has predicted Tottenham Hotspur to win the 2026/27 Premier League, leaving Manchester United out of his top three despite their third-place finish last season.
The former Harambee Stars captain placed Manchester City second and Arsenal third in his forecast. His selection puts Tottenham above the two clubs that dominated the previous title race, while United do not feature among his leading three teams.
Arsenal enter the new campaign as champions after ending a 22-year wait for the league title. They finished last season with 85 points, ahead of Manchester City on 78, while Manchester United took third place with 71 points and secured a return to the UEFA Champions League.
Wanyama expects the next title contest to be more demanding for Arsenal and City. He viewed last season as largely a battle between those two clubs, but believes a stronger challenge from elsewhere could push Arsenal down from first to third.
The Kenyan also expects City to remain among the leading contenders despite Pep Guardiola’s departure. He feels the club’s new manager will need time to establish a playing approach, build consistency and shape a clear team identity, although City’s quality and experience should keep them near the top.
Tottenham’s difficult previous campaign is central to Wanyama’s choice. He believes that experience will leave the squad more determined and better prepared for a title challenge. The club’s new signings and the arrival of a manager with a strong reputation in English football also influenced his decision.
Wanyama’s prediction therefore replaces Manchester United with Tottenham in the expected top three and places Spurs at the summit. It is a forecast for the 2026/27 season rather than a result from a completed league match.
