WBC Noche Suprema set for Hermosillo with Berchelt's return
Coliseo Boxing will stage Noche Suprema in Hermosillo on August 29, 2026, featuring four WBC titles, Miguel Berchelt’s return and strict medical rules.
Coliseo Boxing has announced Noche Suprema for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Centro de Usos Múltiples in Hermosillo, Sonora. The card will feature eight professional bouts and four World Boxing Council-sanctioned titles, with Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt returning to headline the event.
The announcement was made by promoter Rafa Soto, representing Coliseo Boxing, during the WBC’s traditional Martes de Café press conference at the Sport & Chips facility in Mexico City. The event will combine professional boxing with an exhibition, creator bouts and live music.
Berchelt, a former WBC super-featherweight world champion, will face Colombian contender Juan Córdoba in a 10-round lightweight contest. The bout will mark his return to the ring and will serve as the main event of the Hermosillo show.
A strict medical programme will cover every participant on the card. The requirements will apply to the professional boxers and the content creators, with the WBC presenting the measures as a central part of its safety standards for the event.
Former lightweight world champion José Luis Castillo will also box in a four-round exhibition against Alfonso Gómez. The contest will be held without headgear and will renew the pair’s rivalry. Castillo will appear on the same card as his son, while local prospects Axel López, Jandell Caballero and José María Hernández are also due to feature.
The entertainment programme will include six three-round bouts between well-known content creators, subject to the same medical controls as the boxing participants. Activities will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a regional music festival involving Su Majestad La Brisa, Alegres de la Sierra, Los Honorables, Tony Aguirre, Luis Mexia and Adriel Favela, alongside an unannounced guest performer.
