World Boxing opens bidding for 2026 Referee and Judge courses

National federations can bid to host World Boxing’s Continental-level Referee and Judge certification courses, with applications closing on 21 August 2026.

World Boxing has opened the bidding process for National Federations seeking to host its Continental-level Referee and Judge certification courses. Applications must be submitted by 21 August 2026, while any competition proposed for the programme must take place at least three months after that deadline.

Each course can accommodate a maximum of 25 candidates. The programme is designed to certify officials at Continental level and will be delivered under World Boxing’s Competition Rules.

The certification courses will be held alongside a live boxing competition. That format allows candidates to complete the practical bout assessments required during the process, rather than taking the course separately from competitive action.

World Boxing Evaluators will supervise the certification throughout each course. Their role will cover the assessment process as candidates work towards Continental-level recognition as referees and judges.

National Federations interested in hosting must follow the conditions set out in the hosting pack. They are also required to submit their proposals through the official hosting application form.

The initiative is part of World Boxing’s effort to strengthen officiating standards across the sport. By linking the training and certification process to a live competition, the organisation is establishing a defined route for officials to be assessed under its rules and evaluated during bouts.
