Arman Tsarukyan adopts Batman nickname and new song for UFC 331
Arman Tsarukyan will debut the Batman nickname and a new walkout song against Mauricio Ruffy in the UFC 331 co-main event.
Arman Tsarukyan will enter UFC 331 with a new nickname and a different walkout song when he faces Mauricio Ruffy in the co-main event on September 19. The No. 2 UFC lightweight contender has moved away from “Ahalkalakets” and will now be known as “Batman”.
Tsarukyan has traditionally walked to the Armenian song “Yarkhushta”. For his bout with Ruffy, he plans to use “She Wanna Hang With An Indian”, a track created by his friend and popular streamer N3on.
The change is linked to a $200,000 bet between the two friends. Tsarukyan stands to receive $200,000 if he walks out to the song, while he would have to pay the same amount if he does not use it. The new entrance will therefore carry a significant financial consequence for the lightweight contender.
Tsarukyan also explained the nickname switch, saying that fans had already begun calling him Batman before he made the change official. The Armenian will take the new identity into a fight against Brazilian knockout artist Ruffy, who is the opponent scheduled for his next appearance.
The bout also carries major title implications for Tsarukyan. He has said he was told that a victory over Ruffy would earn him the next UFC lightweight title shot. Justin Gaethje is the newly crowned champion and intends to defend the 155-pound belt in 2026 after competing in two demanding fights this year.
That timeline means Tsarukyan could secure the next title opportunity with a win but still face a wait until next year for the championship contest. His immediate task is Ruffy, with the UFC 331 co-main event marking the first fight for Tsarukyan under both the Batman nickname and his new walkout choice.
