Bundesliga Clubs Join Race for Göztepe Midfielder Anthony Dennis
Hoffenheim, Mainz, Augsburg and Stuttgart have registered interest in Göztepe’s Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis, who has one year left.
Hoffenheim, Mainz, Augsburg and Stuttgart have joined the group of clubs pursuing Göztepe midfielder Anthony Dennis. The 22-year-old Nigerian defensive midfielder has become a transfer target in the Bundesliga after attracting attention with his performances for the Turkish Super Lig club.
Interest in Dennis extends beyond Germany. Clubs from England, Spain and Turkey have also been linked with a move for the Göztepe player, creating a broad market for a midfielder who has established himself in the club’s squad since arriving in 2023.
Göztepe turned down a €3.3 million proposal from Belgian Pro League side Anderlecht last summer. The Turkish club is now understood to value Dennis at about €8 million, while the total cost of completing a deal could approach €10 million.
Dennis moved to Göztepe from HB Academy Abuja in July 2023. Since then, he has become an important member of the team, earning a regular role in the squad and drawing interest from clubs across several European leagues.
The midfielder has previously received an invitation to the Super Eagles, although he remains a one-time invitee rather than an established Nigeria international. His position and progress at Göztepe have nevertheless kept him in the wider conversation around Nigerian players attracting European interest.
Dennis has one year remaining on his Göztepe contract. That timeline adds significance to the current attention from Hoffenheim, Mainz, Augsburg and Stuttgart, with the German clubs now part of a growing list of teams monitoring his situation.
