Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan linked with Rapid 1923 transfer
Rapid 1923 have identified Saint-Etienne and Ghana defender Ebenezer Annan as a possible signing, with the 23-year-old contracted until 2028.
Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan has emerged as a transfer target for Romanian club Rapid 1923. The 23-year-old defender is currently with Saint-Etienne, and any move would take him from France’s Ligue 2 to Romania’s SuperLiga.
Rapid 1923’s interest in Annan was recorded on 17 August 2026. The proposed switch would be an international transfer between clubs competing in different divisions and different national leagues, while also representing a change of competition for the Ghana international.
Annan remains under contract at Saint-Etienne until 30 June 2028. That agreement means the French club retain his registration and that a move to Rapid 1923 would have to be completed as a transfer rather than through a free-agent departure.
The defender’s listed market value is €1.8 million. That figure indicates his current standing in the transfer market but is not a confirmed fee for the possible move. No probability has been attached to Rapid 1923 completing the signing.
For Annan, the interest links his current role in France with a potential opportunity in Romania’s top division. He would be leaving Saint-Etienne before the end of a long-term contract if the move goes ahead, with Rapid 1923 the club currently identified as seeking his services.
