Golden Boy Award 2026: Cubarsí leads European top 10 favourites

Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí tops the August 2026 European Golden Boy ranking, ahead of teammate Lamine Yamal and Real Madrid’s Yan Diomande.

Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí is the leading contender in the August 2026 European Golden Boy ranking, with a rating of 81.206. His Barcelona teammate Lamine Yamal is second on 80.583, leaving the Catalan club with the top two places.

Cubarsí’s advantage over Yamal is 0.623 points, while Real Madrid forward Yan Diomande occupies third position on 75.342. The rankings recognise young players making significant progress at clubs across Europe, with the leading names spread among several major teams.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery is fourth with 74.041, followed by Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi on 66.753. Porto youngster Vasco Sousa holds sixth place after receiving a rating of 61.469.

Bournemouth have two players in the remaining positions. Forward Rayan Vitor is seventh on 61.135, while Justin Kroupi is ninth with 60.530. Real Madrid forward Endrick separates the Bournemouth pair in eighth position, scoring 60.933 in the ranking.

Chelsea winger Willian Estêvão completes the top 10 with a rating of 60.446. The list therefore includes two Barcelona players, two from Real Madrid and two Bournemouth representatives, alongside players from Paris Saint-Germain, Lille, Porto and Chelsea.

Cubarsí’s position gives Barcelona an early one-two in the 2026 award race, but the ratings also show a close contest behind the leader. Yamal is within one point of his teammate, while Diomande and Zaïre-Emery make up the next two places before the gap widens to Bouaddi in fifth.
