Manqoba Mngqithi signs former Chiefs and Pirates target Aziz Ki
Young Africans have brought back Burkina Faso international Stephane Aziz Ki on a two-year deal for Manqoba Mngqithi’s 2026/27 squad.
Young Africans have re-signed Stephane Aziz Ki on a two-year contract, giving coach Manqoba Mngqithi another attacking option for the 2026/27 campaign. The Burkina Faso international had previously been linked with Chiefs and Pirates before returning to the Tanzanian champions.
Aziz Ki, 30, is back in Dar es Salaam after a spell with Libyan club Al-Ittihad Tripoli. His move marks the latest addition to Mngqithi’s squad as Young Africans prepare for the new season and continue their pursuit of success in continental competition.
The attacking midfielder first established himself at Young Africans during a four-season stay. He became a popular figure at the club before leaving Tanzania for Wydad Casablanca in 2025.
At Wydad, Aziz Ki worked under South African coach Rulani Mokwena. He later moved to Al-Ittihad Tripoli, but that spell has now ended with his return to the green and yellow colours of Young Africans.
His comeback gives the club a player who already knows its environment and has previous experience with the team. Young Africans regard his return as an opportunity for him to resume his earlier contribution while helping the side pursue continental silverware.
Aziz Ki has also made clear that he sees Young Africans as home. He expressed happiness at wearing the club’s colours again and committed himself to the team’s Champions League ambitions alongside his teammates.
