NWFL Nationwide: Ubakala Babes thrash NAF Queens 6-1 in Aba

Ubakala Babes defeated NAF Queens 6-1 while Lakeside Queens beat Bayelsa Princesses 3-0 on Matchday Two of the 2026 NWFL Nationwide Competition.

Ubakala Babes recorded the biggest win of Matchday Two in the 2026 NWFL Nationwide Competition, defeating NAF Queens 6-1 in Group C. Lakeside Queens also strengthened their promotion campaign with a 3-0 victory over Bayelsa Princesses in Group B.

Ubakala’s six-goal performance included a brace from Uchenna Obinna, who scored in the 10th and 20th minutes. Ogolo Blessing added another in the 22nd minute, giving the Aba-based side a strong attacking platform during the opening stages.

NAF Queens pulled one goal back through Eigbe-Peter Favour in the 16th minute, but Ubakala remained in control. Chidimma Augustine scored twice in the 63rd and 67th minutes, while Monday Favour also found the net in the second half to complete the 6-1 result.

Lakeside Queens settled their match against Bayelsa Princesses with three unanswered goals. Farida Olawumi scored in the 26th and 44th minutes before Chioma Dickson added the third nine minutes after the interval.

The two victories kept the promotion race open as the group stage moves towards its final round. Clubs are competing for semi-final places and, ultimately, automatic promotion to the 2027 NWFL Championship, making every remaining point important.

The other two Matchday Two fixtures ended without goals. Spunky Blazers FA drew 0-0 with Kwara United Ladies in Group A, while Obosa FA and Osklean Queens shared the same score in Group D. Across the four matches in Aba, 10 goals were scored, with two wins and two draws recorded.
