Vipers SC bid farewell to Rogers Torach after Constantine move
Vipers SC have paid tribute to 23-year-old defender Rogers Torach after he completed a three-year move to Algerian Ligue 1 side CS Constantine.
Vipers SC have paid tribute to Rogers Ochaki Torach after the defender completed his transfer to Algerian Ligue 1 club CS Constantine. The 23-year-old centre-back leaves after five seasons with the Uganda Premier League champions and has signed a three-year deal with his new club.
CS Constantine secured Torach’s move after activating the release clause in his Vipers contract. His departure ends a significant spell at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, where he developed into an important member of the club’s defence.
Vipers credited the defender’s commitment, dependability and professional approach during his time with the club. Torach was part of the squad that delivered a domestic double under co-coaches Fred Muhumuza and John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda, adding to the importance of his contribution during one of the club’s successful periods.
His exit comes after Vipers finished first in the 2025 Uganda Premier League with 67 points from 30 matches. They recorded 19 wins, 10 draws and one defeat, while scoring 55 goals and conceding 17. Their latest five matches brought four wins and one draw, including victories over Gor Mahia, Al-haras Al-jumhuri, Express and Maroons, followed by a goalless draw at Police.
Torach’s performances at Kitende also led to international opportunities. He represented Uganda’s senior national team, the Cranes, and featured for the country’s Under-20 side. His progress at Vipers made him part of the club’s growing record of developing players who move to leagues outside Uganda.
Vipers now face the task of strengthening their defence after losing a centre-back who had become known for his physical presence and disciplined work. The champions’ next listed fixture is against Nouadhibou in the CAF Champions League on September 5, 2026.
